Mentoring Program
Why a mentoring program for your club?
- To help your new or newer members become socialized into the fabric of your club and be provided guidance on the Toastmasters education programs from a more experienced club member.
How will a mentoring program improve your club?
- New members will feel more welcomed in your club
- Experienced members will have the opportunity to mentor and share their Toastmasters experience
- Improve the social fabric of your club
- Help with the retention of your club members
- Be used as a recruiting tool for new members
What is a sample mentoring process?
- New member joins your Toastmasters club
- VPE initiates contact with new member about having a mentor (VPE should already have a list of experienced Toastmasters willing to be mentors)
- New member completes an Mentor Interest Survey (may request a particular member of club to be mentor)
- VPE contacts potential mentors for new member
- VPE completes a Mentee Assignment Notice and gives to new mentee
- VPE completes a Mentor Assignment Notice and gives to new mentor
- Mentor and mentee meet to schedule first mentoring meeting
NOTE: At the bottom of both the Mentor and Mentee Assignment Notices gives excellent tips on how to get the most from a mentoring relationship
